Me and my little sis nominated our mum as a Stork SB supermum in the 70s. She got a certificate signed by Bruce and a stork SB apron. She’s still got the certificate!
I was terrible. I only remembered a couple of them. Could be down to being booted outside to play instead of watching tv. Mum wanted to watch tv in peace. My brother and I would always ask questions about what was happening. Mum eventually got a vcr. Even then couldn’t really take in what was being watched while sitting poised and concentrating on being ready to hit record button once ads finished (Mums lavy/tea making break).
Anyone notice the theme of highly processed, sugar and chemical laden products though?! It’s incredible any of us survived to tell the tale!
I’m still trying to remember the advert for the “Amazing Raisin” Bar. Can anyone help?
“A finger of Fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat
A finger of Fudge is just enough until it’s time to eat
It’s full of Cadbury goodness but very small and neat
A finger of Fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat”
Another fun quiz but down to an 8 this week. A couple surprised me that lucky guesses bolstered the score. Thanks a lot again and keep’em coming, please!
Thank you Michael for a breath of nostalgia and silliness in this age of doom and gloom. My partner insisted on answering the Benny Hill question and got it wrong! What a doughnut! Keep ’em coming, please. I wonder if we’ll get a “Christmas Special” (hint, hint).
Loved that quiz! Truly awesome. Only got one wrong too. How is it that l can remember all of this 1970’s telly but not what l did yesterday! Thanks Michael.
Hi Micheal,
I’ve just recently taken the time to read your recent blogs ,
They really are a joy to read.
You really have a knack of remembering Yesteryear😝
I generally always bought your sweets🤣 Mmm
The memories & smiles,
of the little girl in me
came back😝Thank You👍
Loved you little Quiz with the old adverts to see & guess😊 Great stuff😊
Surprised myself how many I got right,
Maybe that shows my age😝 they don’t seem to make adverts like they used to either.
Thanks for the fun.
Love these quizes, it’s amazing how much trivia is locked in our brains. I can almost see and here the adverts just by looking at the pictures. I like to think it’s a good memory, really it’s just an age thing.
Great to have the nostalgic quizzes.
I was a child of the 60’stairs & 70’s, my big heroes were John Noakes & Johnny Morris. Do you remember Roberts Robots?
New to this….anyone remember this,
lip smakin, thirst quenchin, ace tastin, motivatin, good buzzin, cool talkin, high walkin, fast livin, ever givin, cold fizzin, ………
Pepsi.
Think that was the right, friend had it printed on at shirt, but that was about 45 years ago.
they don’t write them like that anymore?
Loved this new quiz. It never ceases to amaze me what rubbish I remember and yet I can’t remember to turn the oven off. Keep ’em coming Michael.
Oooh loved this one – much better off with TV adverts as these were just the right era for me. Just lurve your work!!!
Can’t wait for the next one.
Bring back the old adverts, please.
Great, adverts used to be entertaining and funny, it’s a shame as most were better than the programs
Couldn’t agree more. I used to “watch” some programmes just for the adverts.
Love it. Keep em coming 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
“They peel them with their steely knives” Still love that advert. My all favourite…RWhites Lemonade
I loved ‘watch out watch out there’s a Humphrey about’
My Dad won Humphrey plimsolls/trainers in a competition. They were red and white striped with red pom poms on them.
I enjoyed that and I’m now humming some of the themes. Good old days!
It’s Frothy man!
Thanks Danny I was getting annoyed trying to remember that!!! 🙂
Ah yeah thanks
Yeah, The one i got wrong!
Blimey these old adverts are great. They clearly worked as I remembered so many of them!
Loved that, thanks for doing it
Re-record not fade away – this was my favourite ad, I loved it!!
Only one wrong so not too shabby. I could recite most ITV adverts during the 70s and 80s.
Loved this quiz! I used to watch adverts like they were programmes when I was a kid.
Love it made me really dig deep in the past
Me and my little sis nominated our mum as a Stork SB supermum in the 70s. She got a certificate signed by Bruce and a stork SB apron. She’s still got the certificate!
Remembered most of them
Old ads refresh memory, making it “as fresh as a mountain stream” frothing with menthol!
I loved that quiz, it certainly brought back some happy kid memories!
Thank you Micheal
Great quiz didn’t get them all, but brought back some old memories
13 out of 15, what a blast from the past that was. Loved it!!
Tell em about the honey mummy lol
I’m *not* his mummy.
Great quiz thanks Michael!
Great fun, brought the memories back! Thank you 😁👍
Grate quiz
Only got the car one wrong!
Surprised at how much I remembered!!
13 out of 13, no sign of Alzheimer’s yet………..what was the question again.
Great! I won’t sleep now lol. 70 next month and I still remember ITV. The days of real entertainment.🥴🥴🥴
So sad, I got two wrong, sob, sob. I really am getting old, sob.
Anyone notice the theme of highly processed, sugar and chemical laden products though?! It’s incredible any of us survived to tell the tale!
I’m still trying to remember the advert for the “Amazing Raisin” Bar. Can anyone help?
I enjoyed that, only got 2 wrong and one of those was a mistake answer. What funny things we remember!
“A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat. Its full of Cadbury’s goodness and very small and neat!”
Anyone remember the rest? Remember the ad with the dodgy looking boy in it but didn’t like the sweet.
“A finger of Fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat
A finger of Fudge is just enough until it’s time to eat
It’s full of Cadbury goodness but very small and neat
A finger of Fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat”
I believe that’s it.
Love the quizzes. Only 1 wrong this week. Always room for improvement. One of the adverts was my favourite and I still love it.
Memory exists, at least for the present!
I ENJOYED THAT WITHOUT THE PICTURES
brilliant. I love this quiz. Can’t wait to see the next one
I just finished the quiz but instead of getting a score it just took me back to Benny Hill. Oh well.
There is a link at the bottom that says ‘skip this bit’ and then your score comes up – found it by accident.
Thanks Joy. I’ll have another go.
That went much better. I surprised myself by remembering them all. Thanks for the memories Michael.
Great quiz. Really had to dig deep into my memory. Haven’t lived in the UK for years so these pages make me smile. Thanks
I was useless but it was fun seeing part of the old ads again.
Another fun quiz but down to an 8 this week. A couple surprised me that lucky guesses bolstered the score. Thanks a lot again and keep’em coming, please!
Brilliant. Love the quizzes. Really takes me back
Really enjoyed the quiz and got 11 right. They don’t make them like they used to. The smash advert being my favourite of this batch.
Can’t wait for the next one as we want to get them all right ! Loved this one
Full marks, but I don’t remember watching that much TV when I was younger – it must be the power of memorable adverts (good or bad).
Thank you Michael for a breath of nostalgia and silliness in this age of doom and gloom. My partner insisted on answering the Benny Hill question and got it wrong! What a doughnut! Keep ’em coming, please. I wonder if we’ll get a “Christmas Special” (hint, hint).
ah – got the Slimcea and Nimble mixed up -should have gone with my first instinct
Oh yea! The things I did, saw, and read 40odd years ago, I remember perfectly. What I did yesterday, or said I’d do today, I’ve forgotten already!
Brilliant quiz once again!
You got me with the “Re-record, not fade away” though – always trust your first instinct! 🙂
I watched to many adverts as a child then lol
every one’s a fluffy one!!
Great to see that one although can’t believe I got 3 wrong. Thanks !!
I love theses quizzes 🙂 please keep them coming coming
Great! Many thanks Michael. I only read two blogs, yours is one of them and my favorite by a country mile, you have real talent.
So many memories from a time when we only had 3 tv channels – thank you
Loved that quiz! Truly awesome. Only got one wrong too. How is it that l can remember all of this 1970’s telly but not what l did yesterday! Thanks Michael.

I linked to my Twitter for others to reminisce 😊
My dad was a milkman for Unigate for 25 years, these ads certainly bring back the memories.
Great quiz. Memories are flooding back!
Apart from the engine, gearbox, electrics, fuel system and bodywork my Allegro was great.😁👍🚗😁👍
Brilliant! Thanks for the nostalgia Michael.
keep em coming brill
Got a lot wrong obviously don’t watch enough adverts or my memory bad!
Clearly I wasn’t paying attention to adverts when I was little 🤣🤣
Love these quizes, it’s amazing how much trivia is locked in our brains. I can almost see and here the adverts just by looking at the pictures. I like to think it’s a good memory, really it’s just an age thing.

13/13 I don’t know whether to be proud or ashamed!

Keep the nostalgia alive! X
